Conscious Pattern: An Ethical Knitwear Collection With
Chinti + Parker

A monochromatic knitwear collection celebrating sustainable style

We joined forces with knitwear specialists Chinti + Parker to design a 28-piece collection that celebrated the transformative nature of conscious living, in its aesthetic and sustainable aspects. From the weft and weave of our creative awareness emerged a collection sold in retailers globally including Selfridges, Matches and Net-A-Porter. We also created a fashion film to bring the collection to life.

For inspiration, we went back to the basic shapes of the world around us: shapes, circles, lines, triangles, squares, grids, dots and stripes. We took our immediate surroundings as our guide, from the macro buildings towering above our heads to micro patterns deep within the structure of knitwear. We translated these eternal forms into consciously crafted clothing for everyday wear.

We chose a simple monochrome colour palette to emphasise the contrast of urban shadows and shapes – and juxtaposed textures of concrete and metal with super-soft cashmere and cotton.

Playfully merging our photography and vector graphics, our short film animation – in collaboration with Filmmaker Zoe Hitchen – investigates the idea behind the knitwear collection.  From repeated window grids to circular drain covers turned polka dots, these patterns are mirrored within the wider architecture of the city and in the knitwear collection itself.

Conscious living wasn’t just a concept. It was embodied by the ethical way in which the highest quality yarn was sourced, manufactured, cut and sold. By encouraging others to slow down and notice more, we aimed to provoke more conscious patterns of both seeing and being.
