Challenging students to Explore Interconnectivity

Our Head of Research Liv Taylor visited ESDIR in La Rijoca, Spain to run a patterned project for students from graphic, product, fashion and interior design.
The brief was to 'Explore Interconnectivity' through pattern storytelling, and after a presentation exploring the way we design and think at PATTERNITY, students worked in groups to come up with concepts that create a positive pattern…

Students were incredibly ambitious, thinking outside of just surface pattern design to create concepts ranging from sensory explorations of music, to representations of age through texture. Other ideas included engaging with the public or connecting people through the patterns of their life.

The building at ESDIR was the perfect setting for the project, being designed in a true Spanish way with vibrant tiles mixing with modern design. Thank you so much for hosting us!
