Connected by Pattern: An Immersive Installation at Somerset House

An Immersive Public Space with London Design Festival

To launch our stationery collaboration with Paperless Post, we designed an interactive installation Connected By Pattern as part of Somerset House’s 10 Designers in the West Wing exhibition during London Design Festival 2015.

This fun, immersive experience comprised a single room filled from floor to ceiling with geometric mirrors, surprising textures and monochrome patterns designed for the collection. In this wonderland of pattern, people of all ages could connect with each other through exploration, conversation and play.

Gigantic, boldly patterned circles, triangle and squares created a magical world. Consciously designed with social media in mind, the space encouraged people to photograph and share images of themselves amongst the patterns and perspectives that really spoke to them. Day after day, posts on Instagram showed visitors laughing, smiling and making fresh discoveries and new connections.
