Celebrating a Tiger Resurgence

Positive patterns of growth for big cats

Caspian Tigers were designated as extinct in the 1960s. The cats, that were often up to 10 feet long, were some of the largest that ever lived.
Scientists now believe that a subspecies of the Caspian could be restored to Central Asia, starting in Kazakhstan. One tiger's territory often spans over 100 square kilometers, so they could roam as far as China and Russia if successfully re-introduced.
